Runes of Battle
Book Two of the Rune Song trilogy
“Definitely the best and most immersive fantasy I’ve read in years.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazon review.
Adelais is on the run.
And the kingdom of Galmandie has never been more dangerous.
In every town square, people whisper of a girl who brought down lightning on her enemies. The king has placed a huge price on Adelais’s head and sent troops to hunt her down.
Adelais flees high into the mountains. But winter is closing in and she cannot hide for ever.
Far to the north, there is a chance of escape. Her homeland has risen in rebellion against Galmandie. To reach freedom and safety, Adelais must cross many miles of hostile territory with inquisitors and royal soldiers always close behind.
If she is captured, Adelais will be burned as a witch. But if she learns to control the storm of magic within her, she could be the spark that sets the whole country aflame.
Packed with intrigue, action and warring gods, The Rune Song Trilogy is perfect for fans of Robin Hobb, Guy Gavriel Kay, Mark Lawrence and Andrzej Sapkowski.
Sometimes a book comes along that reminds me so strongly of why I love reading that I actually get a bit tearful (happy tearful!). .. I don't know why everyone isn't shouting about G.N. Gudgion's writing, the awesomeness of Adelais, and this world that is going to be so hard to leave behind ... If you haven't at least read the first book yet, you're missing something special. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a completely engrossing tale! With every turn of the page the story becomes more riveting. Beautifully paced, this book has the perfect blend of peace, action, terror and surprise. Just when you think the narrative will lead us one way, there is a twist, keeping readers desperate to turn the page to see what come next. Another absolutely thrilling read. The only problem I have is the excruciating wait for book 3!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Epic fantasy of the best kind- one that takes the reader into a looming dangerous landscape with a hero who faces all that her enemies can conjure with her own powers … heroic fantasy in the grand scale and very well conceived and written. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
