I left school at 17 to join the Royal Navy. Ten years and a Cambridge degree later I decided, with the arrogance of youth, that the armed forces weren’t quite ready for me. I became a businessman, specialising in marketing then general management, although as a quiet Englishman I never fitted into the evangelical sales culture of my Californian employers. Much to my irritation they insisted I live in the real world, whereas I wanted to inhabit a world of my own imagination and write books. We parted company and I became a freelance consultant to release time to write.
In 2011 literary agent Ian Drury of Sheil Land accepted me onto his list. Ian succeeded in placing my first novel Saxon’s Bane with Solaris, an imprint of Rebellion. The ebook version reached #1 in Kindle’s ‘ghost’ category.
I now write full time. Watch this space!
